Sam Barnes: Prestatyn sign former Aberystwyth defender
Prestatyn Town have announced the signing of Aberystwyth Town centre-back Sam Barnes.
The former Cymru Premier defender has made the decision to leave Aberystwyth and join the Cymru North side Prestatyn.
Barnes is no stranger to the Cymru North after playing at that level with Bangor City. Barnes departed Bangor in January 2019 to join Cymru Premier side Newtown.
The 29-year-old made the move to Aberystwyth in the 20/21 season but has decided to move on from the Mid Wales club, having made just one league appearance.
Prestatyn director of football John Lawless said: “Sam’s an excellent defender who can play either at centre half or full back and will be a vital part of our defence I’m delighted to get him on board.”
