Pontypridd Town set for fourth home ground in four years after move from Leckwith Stadium
Pontypridd Town are to move mid-season to Aberdare Town’s Aberaman Park for their remaining home games in Division One.
The Dragons had been playing their home games at Leckwith Stadium, but due to concern over the persistent use of the recently relaid pitch, the club will now move back to the Rhondda Cynon Taf for the remainder of the season.
Pontypridd are now awaiting clarification from the Welsh Football League for their approval of the move.
Their 5-0 victory over Ammanford was their last game at Leckwith Stadium. They will now play Briton Ferry Llansawel at Aberaman Park on Saturday.
It is the fourth ground in four years that Pontypridd Town will have played at, having played at Leckwith Stadium, the USW Sport Park and Ynysagharad Park.
Aberdare’s Aberaman Park is 12.9 miles away from Pontypridd’s long-term home Ynysangharad Park in which they played at for a number of years.
Pontypridd moved to Cardiff last summer as their USW Sport Park ground was unable to match the Tier Two criteria after they won promotion to Division One last season after finishing second.
They have five home games remaining, having begun the season away from home.
The club are hopeful for a return to the USW Sport Park in the near future.
Lee Kendall’s side are third from bottom and currently occupy the last relegation spot in Division One. They have ten games remaining.

How the Welsh League has allowed this farce to carry-on with a club actually having NO home ground of their own amazes me. Where all the other clubs in Div are being made to fund upgrades to Tier2 standard if they wish to remain in the league, Pontypridd are allowed to tread water and travel to different grounds to play their home matches. This situation makes the Welsh League look an absolute joke !!!
Other clubs are spending vast amounts of money on improvements and are being laughed at by Pontypridd and what they are allowed to get away with.
