Vaughan Jr named Director of Football at Citizens

Bangor City have appointed former Chester City player Steven Vaughan Jr as their director of football, it was announced on Friday.

Vaughan, a former Liverpool youth player who also made appearances for  Boston United, Droylsden and Northwich Victoria, will focus on player recruitment in his new role.

The position is not his first in football management, having been president and technical director of  BOV Maltese clubs Floriana FC and Mosta FC. respectively.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Gwynfor Jones, General Manager & Matchday Secretary said:

“I have worked closely with Stephen since July and the quality of players brought to the club shows his knowledge of the game. He has attended WPL games not involving Bangor City every weekend since the start of the season and has brought a level of professionalism on the playing side that will benefit the club long term.

I look forward to working closely with Stephen in the future for the benefit of Bangor City FC.”

The move comes at a busy time for Bangor City’s new administration, who have also announced the installation of covered terracing at the Menai Bridge end of the ground as part of a commitment to the development of the Bangor University Stadium.
