O’Shaughnessy set for Airbus

Bala Town’s director of football Steve O’Shaughnessy has left the club to become Airbus UK FC’s new assistant manager, it was announced today.

Joining the club in June 2015, O Shaughnessy enjoyed two successful seasons with Bala Town, qualifying for Europe automatically with consecutive second place finishes.

O’ Shaughnessy will now be Andrew Thomas’ assistant at a troubled Airbus outfit who are rock bottom of the Dafabet Welsh Premier League and facing a relegation battle.

Airbus’ new assistant manager brings a wealth of experience to the club, with a senior career of two decades seeing O’ Shaughnessy play for the likes of Leeds, Bradford and Exeter.

He has considerable knowledge of Wales’ domestic scene with 153 League of Wales appearances, O’Shaughnessy played for Inter Cardiff, Barry Town, Holywell Town, Rhyl, Caernarfon Town, T.N.S. Llansantfraid, Bangor City, Oswestry Town and Cefn Druids.

Moving to management, he has been at the helm of Oswestry Town, Cefn Druids, Caernarfon Town and gap Connah’s Quay.

Bala Town thanked O’ Shaughnessy on their official website.

“We’d like to thank Steve for his hardwork and services in his time with the Lakesiders and wish him all the best at Airbus.”
