WPWL Roundup

The league is starting to take shape, and the big guns go head to head at Pen-Y-Pound Stadium (Abergavenny)

Llandudno Ladies 2 – Cyncoed Ladies 2

A game of braces, with Rosie Hughes (Llandudno) and Alice Griffiths (Cyncoed) both bagging one for their side, the later becoming the youngest WPWL goal scorer at just 15 years & 2 days on her debut; breaking the hearts of a superb Tudno performance.

Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies 0 – Port Talbot Town Ladies 2

The local derby ended in a 2-0 win for the away side, who literally train next to each other at the same time. Bragging rights with the Blues for now.

Aberystwyth Town Ladies 3 – Rhyl Ladies 0

A feisty affair on the West Wales coast saw a brace from Amy Jenkins and another by Kelly Thomas.

Abergavenny Ladies 0 – Cardiff Met Ladies 2

Heartbreaking for the home side, who have been looking increasingly dominant so far this season, and must still consider themselves very much title contenders after this set back. Goals either side of halftime by Chloe O’Connor & Jassie Vasconcelos – respectively.
