Corwen FC look to continue their unbeaten start to the season at Holyhead Road

Chirk AAA, who lost 3-2 to 10 man Lex Glyndwr in the 2nd qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup Trophy host Corwen FC this Saturday.

In what should be a high tempo, entertaining game, Mark Holmes’ men host Corwen FC who have made an impressive start to the season and remain unbeaten.

Chirk will be without key players Joe Roberts and Chris Bennion, who are both out due to hamstring injuries, but welcome back Rob Salisbury, Nathan Lavender, Marcus Davies, Louis Middlehurst and Andrew Swarbrick.

Corwen FC manager Steve Crompton will have something of a selection headache after Saturday’s terrific 4-1 win against FC Queens Park, as they welcome back a host of players such as Nathan Aldridge, Eilir Edwards, Gethin Edwards, Dewi Edwards, Nathan Davies and Alex Webster. They still remain without two players, with Elfyn Roberts’ hand injury and Jack Crompton’ ligament damage ruling the pair out of the match.

Chirk AAA will need to put their shock loss in the JD Welsh Cup behind them and stop Corwen FC’s unbeaten start to the season if they are to come away with maximum points this weekend. Either way, it is sure to be an exciting game.
